The
mission of the Bristol Federal Hill Association is to enhance the quality of
life on Federal Hill in Bristol by encouraging the preservation of the character
of Federal Hill, promoting a shared sense of neighborhood by local residents and
assisting property owners with appropriate historic preservation.
This mission is accomplished in many ways including:
1) Understanding local zoning ordinances, planning regulations, and building codes and encouraging their enforcement on Federal Hill.
2) Reestablishing the neighborhood crime watch and working with law enforcement officials to reduce incidents of crime in our neighborhood.
3) Cooperating with other community groups to establish a common sense of purpose to improve the neighborhood.
4) Implementing a variety of association and community events to foster a greater sense of neighborhood among local residents.
5) Promoting the establishment of one or more local historic districts (with coordinated National Register Districts) and monitor their implementation to preserve and improve the historic character of Federal Hill.
6) Maintaining a library of preservation products, sources and techniques for general public use.
7) Maintain a list of successful preservation contractors, craftsmen and services.
